When I break a project into versions, there's only so many (development) tasks that need to be accomplished in order to logically build a piece of software. I don't create custom tasks for 'Research' or 'Testing', but these are technically efforts that need to be tracked.

Since they're not always specifically bound to an issue, it would be extremely useful if we could just log time against a version. This would really come in handy when you want to quickly enter something like:

• Conference Call with third party developers
• Weekly strategy meeting
• Searched around for a way to build passenger on Windows ... failed miserably ... :P

These "tasks" affect the delivery time, but aren't really items that should belong to that milestone version ... other than a time log entry.
