It would be useful to be able to copy member configurations from one project to another. When you have many member with different roles in a project, and you wish to create the same member access structure in another project, you must currently do this manually, which can be time consuming and error prone.

I have similar requirement but i have a "easier" and mabye more lean to actual design proposal to do that.
If you would have a multiselect list for projects mappped to user/groups in Admin>user config dialog, you can give same role/rights for same user/group in several projects. Instead of click thousands of times the same role>user/group selection for diefferent projects over and over again, you could do it in one step.
This would "only" need to offer a multiselect and do a loop in backend with the same logic but for a list of projects inseatd only one.

This would work for me too. The one thing which I see may be non-trivial however, is specifying individual users roles using this multi-select functionality.
