Imagine that you assign the user to a task. It would be great if you can select his role in this tank. Especially when the task is assigned to multiple users (#408). You assign one user and pick his/her assignment role. You assign another and pick the same/different role.

It is essential in my issue workflow. I use the Fortrange, which is awful. I'd love to replace it with Redmine, but the roles and multiple assignment are essential.
