since the last change on the activity tab, there is some feature which seems to be a good addition.

The grouped notes could be displayed collapsed by default and should be expanded after a simple click on an expand symbol. This will reduce the activity list and give a detailed view if someone wants to see all previous actions on this issue.

In addition of this, there could be a count symbol, which indizes how much elements are under the corresponding group.

To make this more configurable, there should be a option "expand all"/"collapse all" which will expand/collapse the activity list. Those setting should be saved, which gives each user the abbility to decide if he prefers the "old" list or the "new" smaller activity list.
