I this that it would be useful to have ability to move news from one project to another. This may happen when merging or splitting projects.

I imagine this functionality to be similar to how issues are edited.

Move single news entry. This may be achieved by a link 'Move' placed next to "Watch Edit Delete" links up right. Pressing 'Move' should show a dialog where the user selects a destination project.¶

Move multiple news entries. This may be achieved by a link 'Manage' that appears when a list of news is shown (after pressing News in the project menu). 'Manage' link should show a news list with checkboxes to the left like issues list. Then an user selects some or all of news. A link 'Move' above the list may activate a dialog where the user selects a destination project.¶

I know that this functionality may be achieved by simple SQL command in database but not every one knows SQL or has access to database. So please vote for this if you find it useful.
