As stated in subject, could be useful to can calculate totals of a query with a column defined as mixed of number/string values. For example, if a define a custom field to story the pseudo Fibonacci list of scrum story points (0.5, 1, 2,..., 100, +infinity, coffee-cup), it's useful total of this column in a custom query.
In my opinion, to avoid confusion, this feature should be implemented with an association by the user, from list che and numeric value, activabled on demand in custom field definition setting.
