Be able to designate groups as "Active" or "Locked/Inactive" or "Archive" (since its like a user, can use the same statuses).
Groups page would have view filters to show active only by default, similar to how User page is setup.
Should also have filters for custom fields so they can be grouped and categorized.
Would like this in conjunction with #27150 (permissions infrastructure to view/edit groups)

That feature would be great and very usefull to us.
Since every customer has its own group and somtimes customers discontinue the cooperation with us, by inactivating or archiving groups, they should disappear in dropdown and select fields.
My temporary workaround is adding "[END]" in front of the name of the group but that's just a tiny help.
